Preface to the 1937 edition
This chapter covers the political and cultural changes affecting the Jewish question between the original publication in 1922 and this reprint in 1937. Specifically, Belloc discusses the Spanish Civil War, the Nazi policies regarding the Jews, and the beginnings of what we know today as the state of Israel.
We will resume our normal reading next week with chapter six. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, you could take a moment and consider my previous post.
